First Post


"Long-time lurker, first time poster."

I've been talking about starting my own food blog for a while now, but waiting to make the first post -- waiting to be home during daylight hours with a mango. Because how can you start a blog called Mango Lass without a nice picture of a mango lassi?

The mango was a little stringy, and I came home early from work today with a mild fever, but frozen fruity beverages always make everything better, especially with a tablespoon of rosewater.

With no further ado...

Pineapple-Mango Lassi
1 mango
1/2 cup plain nonfat yogurt
Pineapple juice reserved from a small can of pineapple chunks (about 1/3 cup)
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon rosewater
5 ice cubes

Cut mango into chunks; discard pit and peel. Add all ingredients to blender; blend just until ice disappears. Enjoy! Makes about 2 cups.
